The Hogstad Brothers

The Hogstad Brothers are Brooklyn-based producer-songwriter-instrumentalists that create groove-forward, left-field Indie R&B, electronic, and psych-pop. They’re also a DJ/VJ duo that create immersive dance environments by live-mixing amazing music with dancer-interactive, beautiful, psychedelic projections utilizing video samples and real-time 3D data from custom-hacked infrared depth cameras.  Music is drawn from a palette of hip hop, soul, funk, electro, deep disco cuts, soulful house, and world bass.

The Hogstad Brothers have DJ'd and VJ'd at venues around NYC and frequently collaborate in experimental theater pieces. They performed at the 2018 Brooklyn Museum Artists Ball and their Purple Rain New Years Eve Dance Parties made TimeOut NYC's top recommendations in multiple years.

Originally from Palmdale, California, Jonathan and Brandon moved to New York together in 2008 and immediately started writing music and forming various bands that embodied both their eclectic tastes and their playful brotherly energy. As the producers behind Flyer Learning, Earmilk.com described their “groove-driven production" as "something to note as the interlocking analog and digital synthesis takes the listening experience to a higher level”. In 2021, The Hogstad Brothers collaborated with singer Shola Adisa-Farrar to release A World of Love & Hate, their first EP under their own moniker.
